Wednesday, August 14, 10am - Biochar Production and Agri-tourism for Farm Transition from Orchard Crops
Part of the Michigan Small Farms Conference
Paul May of the May Farm, will guide a demonstration of biochar production at small farm scale using a high-efficiency kiln. During the demonstration, we will discuss the ways that biochar can sustain and restore soil health. Additionally, farm owner Heidi Cooper will discuss Rocky Top Farm's adaptations to add farm stays and events in order to diversify revenue on their farm while transitioning away from orchard crop production. https://www.rockytopfarms.com/
